Hello!
I had double jaw surgery along with facial contouring (cheekbones + jawline + chin) at WHY Oral & Maxillofacial surgeryin September 2023.
It's hard to believe it's already been a year, and here I am, writing a review! Thinking back to the surgery, it felt incredibly tough at the time, but now that feeling has become a distant memory.
I’m so happy with my life now, and each day feels better than the last. Whether I’m taking selfies or group photos, I’m really satisfied with the results. Fixing my lifelong insecurity of having a bad bite (malocclusion) has made me so happy.
(Before the surgery)

Sometimes when I come across old photos, I’m shocked. I can’t believe I had such a angular-shaped face! Every time I look at those pictures, I think, “I’m so glad I did this!”
I used to feel more comfortable resting my tongue on my lower teeth, but now it naturally rests on my upper teeth, which still amazes me, even after a year. My teeth were a bit crooked too, but that’s all been corrected, and I’m loving it!

As for sensation, I feel like most of it has returned, except for a slight numbness in my lower jaw. There's still a bit of a tingly sensation, but I’m sure it’ll fully come back with time. It’s not bothersome, so I’m living my life just fine. There’s nothing I can’t eat! While my braces make eating a little uncomfortable, it doesn’t mean I can’t eat—I just choose not to.
Yes, the first 1-3 months after surgery are a bit uncomfortable, but the happiness that follows is so much greater. I highly recommend the surgery after careful consideration!
As the swelling gradually subsides and my face looks more like "me," I feel so grateful to the doctor. He ensured I didn’t go overboard and gave me exactly what I needed, which probably helped prevent sagging. I didn’t do it when I was younger, so some elasticity issues were unavoidable, but Dr. Seok-Jae Lee took it into account, and I’m so glad I trusted him.
I’m absolutely loving my softer appearance and perfectly aligned teeth!
