This is a picture before surgery
Class 3 malocclusion and jaw asymmetry. There was also a slight chin chin tendency. It wasn't that it was uncomfortable to live in, but since I had all three, I thought it would be better to have two jaw surgery. Due to the location of the nerve line, I had to go through a surgical method called IVRO to tie my mouth. I'm posting a review here because there seems to be few people who have had this type of surgery!
After consulting with Dr. Lee Seok-jae, I heard that there were many areas that could be improved, so the surgery was performed at Ygugang. It was nice that the hospitalization room was also a single room, and the hospital prepared all the necessary items for hospitalization, such as cushions, in advance, so there were things I didn't bring, but it was fortunate! There was also a bathroom for patients right next to it, and I think the hospitalization environment was almost the best! However, I think there is a time when you have to endure the two-jaw surgery on your own..!

This is a photo of the first day of surgery.
The first day of surgery was really hard.. First of all, my body was so tired until the anesthetic gas came out, and I couldn't even drink water until 7:00.
Still, I thought the first night was better than I thought, but it was difficult because it was so frustrating to breathe afterwards. Personally, I think it's better not to get help from suction as much as possible! After suction, it seems that the bronchial tube becomes more difficult. Breathing is inevitably difficult for a few days. Be prepared and think it's better to just endure it without suction help unless you really feel like dying!
On the first day, I was really uncomfortable and tired, but I was so grateful that the person who nursed me always kindly cared for me throughout the night. Thanks to you, I think I endured.

This is a picture of the second day. I felt better than the day before because I was able to move without blood pain and urine line. But until the second day, it was difficult to breathe because it was so frustrating. They say the first two days are the hardest. I did too.
If you really need double jaw surgery or someone who wants to change it, you may regret it because of the hard first two days! It's not as easy as I thought..ㅠ

The first time I was finally discharged. From this point on, things that move and eat are pretty good though! The profile is so unfamiliar that I can't get used to it yet.. I think the change will be more noticeable when the swelling goes down! (Still, I really liked it because it was dramatic right away)
And... 2 weeks..!

I loosened the stitches and the intermaxillary fixation.. It was really too long.. Intermaxillary fixation is really.. not easy.. I usually breathe through my mouth and have trouble breathing through my nose, but I think it was more difficult at night because I had intermaxillary fixation... haha Of course, I ate only liquid food.
But now that the intermaxillary fixation has been released, I feel like I'm really going to live, and I'm so happy. I wonder if this means that the well of life will change haha
I think I endured it while eating chocolate milk little by little and consuming sugar. And sooner or later, I'm going to try a cake too.. Heh I don't normally eat it, but I want to eat it all.. And I want to eat ramen soup too.
I still can't chew, so I think that's the most uncomfortable.
Still, when I look in the mirror, the symmetry seems correct, and I feel that my face has gotten smaller. And when I look at it from the side, I feel like I'm being compensated because I can see that the occlusion was not right because the lower part came out.
And in the 2nd week, personally, I was very sick when I removed the stitches.
Originally, I was skinny, so I said I was trying to eat, but I only ate liquids, so I lost 5 kg in 2 weeks.
Fortunately, the swelling seems to be going down quickly! (Is it because I ate less?) However, the discomfort and hardship until the intermaxillary fixation was so great that I think I wanted to clear my mouth faster than my face and become healthy.. haha

Now, 4 weeks later, I eat noodles very well, and I think I can chew rice or small pieces of food! Originally, I don't have a strong appetite, so I'm actually satisfied with the food I eat! However, you have to eat carefully and slowly, and since I had a pre-surgery, there are many parts where the teeth do not reach the occlusion, so I think there are still some inconveniences when eating!
In the case of swelling, it was visible until the 3rd week, but after the correction this time, it seemed to swell again the next day. Think about it! There are times when I am surprised by my puffy face when I look in the mirror, but it's only been a month and I thought I shouldn't worry too much about my current face! After the 3rd week, the swelling seems to go down slowly!
Even though the swelling remains, I can clearly see the areas that have improved, especially the asymmetry or side profile. I think it has improved a lot! I am very satisfied with this part! Even my friends tell me they think it's better! It's been about a month now, and there's still a long way to go, but I think it's gotten to the point where I don't regret the surgery!
From the end of the 3rd week, I returned to my daily life and lived without hesitation, so time seems to go by quickly now. For the time being, I'm going to put off thinking about my face and spend time focusing on my daily life! lol
And it's been 2 months

I've sorted out the 2 month difference!
1. Overall Condition
First of all, after a month or so, your condition is slowly coming back? I think I wanted to. About 6 weeks? I did some light exercise from then on. Certainly, I think my body is still getting tired easily and my strength has dropped a lot. Still getting normal? I feel that I am getting closer to my condition.
Now, I think the inconvenience caused by the correction is greater than the surgery itself.
2. swelling
At first, it didn't seem to be very swollen, so I expected it to go down a lot in about two months, but it seems to be coming out a lot more slowly than I thought. These days, yesterday and today, the swelling seems to be the same every day. However, if you look at it at intervals of about 2 weeks, it seems to be falling out. Now that I've increased the amount I eat, I've gained some weight on my face, so it seems like it's coming out later hahaha I'm just going to watch it slowly now.. I don't think the remaining swelling will go away quickly.
3. Food
Now that it's been two months, I don't think I'm sick when I eat anything other than hard food. However, because I had a pre-surgery, the occlusion didn't fit very well. Now, the area where the teeth touch has increased a lot compared to the first time. I can eat any food now. However, the occlusion is still much more uncomfortable than before the surgery.
4. Benefits after surgery
I had an asymmetry, a class 3 malocclusion, and a small protruding chin, so I had surgery.
First of all, I think the most noticeable thing is that the profile has changed a lot! The swelling hasn't gone away from the side, but I'm still satisfied. Does the front still look a bit full? I want to be sharper because I have a feeling haha And I think it's good that I don't pay attention to the asymmetry when taking pictures! In the past, there were many times when I was surprised by the asymmetry when taking pictures, but these days I don't really care about the asymmetry even if I take pictures with the basic camera!
5. Overall rating
It's been about two months, so I'm a little impatient when I get better. Maybe it's because I'm fatter now, but I think of the things I did before the surgery, like the things I ate comfortably. My body seems to have gotten a lot healthier.
It seems that two jaws should be looked at in the long term than I initially thought. I think there is still a long way to go before the swelling, body and occlusion get better enough lol I'll wait slowly!
And the 3rd month that came again !!

From the 3rd month, I think it has definitely improved in many areas compared to the 2nd month.
The swelling has gone down to the point where I don't really care anymore, and I don't think there's anything inconvenient about exercising or living in general.
However, there is something uncomfortable because the occlusion is still a little less correct due to preoperative surgery. Still, it's much better than the 2nd month. I can eat any kind of food without much discomfort. Now it feels like it's the end once the real correction is done! I hope the correction is over soon! lol
Ah, the surgery was performed at Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I'll be back in about 6 months!
