진료과목 Double-jaw surgery
제목 It's been 2 months since two jaw surgery!!! Why Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

First of all, I looked for a hospital where I would do orthognathic surgery while working on a missionary boat!!

The motivation for orthognathic surgery is always because of malocclusion

It was uncomfortable to chew. When I eat with people, it was my daily life that I ate the slowest, and when I looked at the side of my face, my lower jaw was sticking out, and when I looked at it from the front, I wanted to change the fact that my face felt flatter. I also have a slight asymmetry between the left and right sides, so I was diagnosed that I had to have two jaw surgery no matter what hospital I went to..!

After all, I got to know Dr. Lee Seok-jae of the Y-October and Maxillofacial Surgery Department while doing my best at various hospitals, and I trusted the director's kind explanations and clear surgery guidance! Also, after seeing several reviews saying that Dr. Seok-jae Lee has a lot of experience and good skills, I decided to do surgery here.

First day of Yangak... It seems that . really went by without hesitation. As soon as I woke up, my jaw still had no feeling, so I was bruised, but it didn't hurt as much as I thought. However, the hardest part was that breathing was difficult because my nose was clogged even though the phlegm was boiling so badly.

The second day was also welcomed at the hospital, and on that day, I was able to take a short walk alone.

I came home on the 3rd day, and the swelling on my face seemed to be the worst on the 4th day, and my face became puffy especially every morning.

On the 5th day, I took a two-hour walk alone.

Still, after the 4th day, I felt relieved as I improved day by day, both externally and physically.

Seeing me getting better and better, I was looking forward to the future..!

And I can't believe it's already the 28th day!!

In the meantime, I think it's fortunate that the frequency of the numbness in my ears has decreased and disappeared a lot.

The swelling on my face has gone down a lot in the 2nd week and it is coming down slowly. Maybe it's because I originally had a little bit of chin fat, but the chin fat is coming off slowly (I'm deciding on a diet..)

When the stitches were removed in the 2nd week, it hurt enough to bring tears to my eyes, but it was nice to feel refreshed after it was over!!

The sensation in the chin is gradually returning with occasional tingling or numbness in parts.

And I think I'm recovering.. It's a bit dull, but I can tell if something gets on my chin! The roof of my mouth is still almost numb, but I was relieved after hearing the explanation that it slowly returned without my knowledge..!

I had a ct scan today, and they showed me that the waste products on my face had gone down compared to the 2nd day of surgery, so I felt refreshed for no reason.

Right now, my mouth opens about two and a half fingers~~ I think it opens more and more comfortably because I practice mouth opening and opening every day.

And now I'm glad I don't look awkward when I take off my mask and talk or show my face! I still have a strong feeling of chubby... but I can see that the lines are gradually showing, so I have to hold on.

It's a bit unfortunate that I can't masticate because I started post-correction next week, and the occlusion doesn't match.

and!!!

Finally 2 months!!

It's been 2 months since I've been evil hahaha

At this point, I think there are many moments where I even forget that I was good at it!!

First of all, if you look at the improvements in terms of functionality...!! The chewing function has returned so much that it has nothing to do with things other than very hard nuts or chewy food. There is no uncomfortable feeling at all when smiling or protruding the lips.

The range in which the sensation of the roof of the mouth returns is gradually expanding. Also, it was difficult to stick out my tongue in the past, but this is also back to before I had a good jaw!

There is no abnormality in the jaw joint, and the jaw is wide enough to fit three fingers.

I don't have inflammation in my mouth and gums, and I think it's fortunate that everything has healed well. It's my personal opinion, but I also think that it was safer because I operated at an oral and maxillofacial surgery department rather than a plastic surgery clinic.. (This is my personal opinion)

from an external point of view

When people who are new to the New Year see me, they don't think it's strange at all haha I think I'll look like a person with chubby cheeks. Still, I didn't care too much because it seemed to suit me well.

I'm really satisfied with both the side profile with a pretty jawline and the symmetrical front! I think it's a happy thing that you can't see the angular place even if it's taken from any angle. And it's a side effect of plastic surgery... lol Originally, I'm not a person who doesn't take selfies often, but on days when I dress up a little, I keep wanting to take one haha

It's not just me, is it? It's so nice to have confidence. These side effects are welcome, right?

Before the swelling went down this much, I was very worried about the condition of my face where the double chin stood out too much. when will it fall... Should I fall... However, as I focused on reality for a while and lived a busy life, the days passed quickly, and the jawline almost disappeared naturally at some point!

I think those who are good at it or those who are going to do it will not have to be impatient in the future. (What I want to say to my past self...)

After successfully completing the western jaw like this, I came to appreciate the obvious things of being able to breathe well and eat well..!

That's why orthognathic surgery is very difficult and exhausting in the beginning, but personally, after about two months, I think I've done well to endure this surgery. I think I'll feel better if the swelling goes down again and the occlusion gets better with correction.

I will support everyone who is enduring this surgery or thinking about it..!!!
