hello!
I am going to write a review after two weeks have passed since I decided to have double jaw surgery.
You may be facing a difficult decision or going through a lot of difficulties after surgery.
I leave a review in the hope that it will be of some help to you, comrades!
(For convenience, I wrote it like a diary.)

-Situation before surgery-
I started editing about 4-5 years ago. Before correction, the left lower molar was extracted due to tooth decay, and whether to correct it with implants or just
While consulting on whether to undergo orthodontic treatment, he asked to try orthodontic treatment without implant + tooth extraction, so he started orthodontic treatment. however...
During orthodontic treatment, I had to extract 2 maxilla and 1 mandible because there was not enough space.
The corrections carried out in this way were completed earlier than planned. (Originally, it was expected to be 2 years, but it was completed in about 1 year and 5 months.)
And I lived without thinking... Gradually, the middle of the upper jaw was deeply recessed. There were even wrinkles that were not there. The mouth didn't come out, but the mouth seemed to go in.
I didn't want to pay much attention, but as the years went by, I couldn't help but pay more attention to this.
Of course, since the upper philtrum is visible, the lower chin comes out naturally, and it gradually becomes a protruding chin. And there is a little asymmetry.
Again, this problem was caused by incorrectly correcting the tooth extraction.
After living under such stress, I thought about two-jaw surgery with the thought that I would not be stressed anymore.
However, it was not a severe protruding chin, and the occlusion was not a big problem, so I did not seriously worry.
Then, from time to time, I found a video related to Yangjak on YouTube.
Here.. With the power of a very mysterious algorithm, you will see several videos related to Western jaws.
Then, 'Ah, should I get some orthognathic counseling?' With a light heart, I made an appointment for consultation at two hospitals.
-Consultation before surgery-
Of the 2 hospitals booked, one had a consultation reservation fee and one had no consultation reservation fee.
First of all, I made a reservation for both, and the hospital without a consultation reservation fee had a quick consultation date, so I visited there first.
And the conclusion is... I haven't been to other hospitals.
The reason is because I really liked the hospital I consulted with for the first time!
I didn't feel the need to go to another hospital.
The manager who conducted the consultation first explained it very well. Please answer my questions calmly
Above all, he made me feel very comfortable. To be honest, it was my first visit to this hospital, so I was a little nervous.
During the consultation, the nervous feeling is naturally relieved.
While talking and consulting without burden, the director came.
In fact, I saw the director a lot on YouTube.
It's the first time I've seen you in real life... At first, it felt a bit like seeing a celebrity (beware of overwatching on YouTube)
I'm here to get a consultation, but seeing the director's real life gave me a strange feeling, so I forgot the fact that I came for a consultation haha
Anyway, I explained to the director why I came. After listening calmly, he briefly explained the cases where two-jaw can be performed and the cases where it was not.
I would say that it is a case where both jaws can be used. However, the possibility of such a dramatic change is not high.
You explained in detail. And when I had the surgery, what I wanted was possible, what was not, and what I hadn't thought of.
You even told me the parts that might not be good. For example, I have a thin upper lip, but if I get surgery, my upper lip may become thinner.
I didn't think about that part at all, so I thought he was a very honest person. Don't they usually say more nice things to get you into surgery?
I was thinking about this, but I got a strong feeling that the director only talked about the exact parts.
15 minutes like that? I think I was consulting. It wasn't a very long time because I didn't go to counseling with the mindset that I had to have surgery.
I also didn't have too many questions.
So I finished the consultation and went home. After thinking about it for two days, I decided to have surgery.
Because I felt like I would continue to get stressed out with my philtrum and weak chin..!
Why did you decide to go to the hospital before surgery?
1. Director's light explanation and factual words + accurate judgment
2. Counseling manager's friendly counseling attitude
3. Clean and tidy facilities
It was these three things.
After the surgery was decided, I contacted the hospital again.
-Until the day before surgery-
Sent the same daily life. Climb once a week. The meal was the same as the 2nd PT. I heard that you can't eat much for a while if you have good jaws.
I thought I would eat it soon, so I didn't eat anything more or something (I still regret this... I thought it was too short...)
At my wife's recommendation, I ate Zico Bar the day before surgery.
-On the day of surgery-
Wake up at the same time every day (7 AM)
The first thing I packed was my laptop, mouse, and cell phone charger to do my work in the hospital room after surgery.
I really didn't know at this time... I... I knew I would be like that after I had surgery and was doing my job and watching Netflix.
Not knowing what will happen in the future...
Is it okay for my wife to keep taking care of that? Others say they need a humidifier, a neck pillow, wet wipes, slippers, etc...
What's wrong with you brother?
"Yeah I don't need ^^"
After saying this, get dressed and head to the hospital!
They told me not to apply lotion in the morning, so I did what the hospital told me to do.
Fasting + no lotions!
After arriving at the hospital, you will be assigned an inpatient room.
It was a single room and I was surprised by how clean it was. Washbasin, mirror, cabinet, sofa, etc... It looked like the best single room I've ever seen.
While I was looking at the hospital room, a nurse came and took care of pre-surgery notes, consent forms, patient clothes, etc.
After gargling for the last time, I was waiting in the hospital room, and it was around 10:30 am or 11:00 am...
Then I went into the operating room.
I lay down in the operating room, got an injection... and then I don't remember. She can't remember when she fell asleep or what she did.
and.....
When I opened my eyes, I was in an inpatient room. ha....
Until now, I had not looked for the postoperative period of orthognathic surgery, so I was really ignorant of the pain immediately after surgery.
In such a state, the pain will come.
1. Extremely upset stomach
I don't think I should vomit, but my stomach is rumbling like crazy. She tried to hold it in but couldn't help but vomit.
2. It was suddenly very cold
My hands and feet are tingling like crazy and I feel like I can't circulate blood. I was so numb that my limbs were pale and trembled.
These two symptoms were too severe. At that time, the nurse cleaned up all the vomiting and came with an electric blanket to warm it up.
Keep clasping your hands and feet. There were two nurses, one of whom kept rubbing my hands and the other of my feet.
I'm so sick and crazy, I keep vomiting and I'm cold, but the nurse is by my side and takes good care of me, so even while I'm sick, I feel so good.
I felt grateful and sorry. In fact, I thought it was a role that a guardian should come and play, but the nurse teachers acted like caregivers or guardians.
I thought I was the only patient because he kept taking care of me (I later found out, but there were other patients besides me TT)
And it's not true at this time, am I sensitive to anesthetic gas? I found out that he is a person with a sensitive reaction?
I continued to vomit and couldn't open my eyes well, so the director kept coming to check me every 5 minutes.
And he said that there are about 3 people who suffer this much from the anesthetic gas in a year, and I am one of them.
I won a really good one, so what is it... ha ha ha ha ha ha
Anyway, I continued to struggle for 2-3 hours like that.
Nurses came to my hospital room from time to time, kept checking my pulse and breathing, checking my hands and feet for numbness, wiping my dirty mouth due to vomiting,
He adjusted the humidifier so that his nose was not stuffy. I feel like I'm smoking too much, so I wrote "Sin s s s o yeo" (I couldn't even write it down because I was sick) on the pad
The nurse comforted me by saying that I don't have to have that kind of mind at all and that if I persevere for today, it will be much better.
I don't know how many times I felt grateful to the nurses throughout my hospital stay. The director, nurse, and everyone who came to see me looked like Mother Teresa, Buddha, and God.
I kept enduring it like that, and then I realized that this would be difficult on my own.
Exactly this morning, I left the house very coolly, but after 8 hours, I became a child and asked the nurse to call my wife.
When my wife said she would come with me in the morning, she said it was okay and told me to call her when it was over... but I couldn't call myself and asked the nurse.
Thankfully, my wife came in an hour.
And he continued to massage and care for his hands and feet. (At this time, my wife, who came to care for me, was also a pacifist angel of philanthropy, with the nurse providing a chair and something to drink.)
After 2 years of marriage, I remembered what my mother said at that time. "Son, people don't live alone. You know when you get older..."
The long night of the surgery passed. (I barely sleep)
Over time, the vomiting stopped and the numbness in the hands and feet improved.
After passing the first gate, the second gate begins. My nose is stuffy, it's hard to breathe, and I get a huge headache... and it's not over until it's over.
-Day 1 after surgery-
I didn't even know it was morning. I was hit with fluids and painkillers, and I'm still in a state of hazing. After spending time so distracted, he removed the blood pipe and urine line.
And swelling treatment? I went to the treatment room to receive swelling care, and I think I slept soundly for the first time at this time. I think it was about 15 minutes, but it was so good.
For the first time after treatment, I briefly looked at my phone and reported the time. Before that, I didn't even have the mind to do that.
I did not have intermaxillary fixation because I underwent SSRO surgery. So, I tried to drink water. I tried to drink it in a paper cup, but it was not easy.
Since then, I have been diligently looking for reviews of two jaw surgery. When I looked for reviews after the surgery, all the reviews touched my heart. I think I looked really carefully.
I am grateful to all Yangak people who leave reviews. It wouldn't have been easy to write about your experience.. Those who read it will be a lot of support and strength.
When I get older, I promise to leave a detailed review.
I spent time reading the reviews. In the middle, a nurse came to check my condition. The director said that since you endured well yesterday, the hardest thing has passed, so let's try harder.
The most welcome person during hospitalization - Director + Nurse teacher
It's night like that...
I woke up to go to the bathroom a little better than yesterday. Dizziness... After sitting for a while, I walked a few steps and felt dizzy.
Still, I took a deep breath and went to the bathroom.
The bathroom is right in front of the hospital room. It's really right in front of me, so it's not too difficult, but in my current state, it was difficult to walk.
I'm sure I went hiking for 4 hours a week before hospitalization, but now it's hard to go here... Huh...
But I didn't feel like staying here.
I couldn't sleep, so I walked around the hospital little by little rather than trying to force myself to sleep.
I lay down, walked, lay down, walked... In the meantime, the nurse kept changing my ice pack and cleaning my nose. infinite impression
The first day passed after such a long surgery.
-Day 2 after surgery-
Today is the day of discharge.
Some people say that there are people who are hospitalized for a few more days, but I really wanted to go home. Even if I was sick, I thought that if I was sick at home, I would be taken care of more.
In the morning, the nurse teacher came and explained in detail what to be careful about at home, what to do, etc., gave me a prescription, and meticulously took care of this and that.
And the wife arrives. I still have a headache and my condition is at the bottom, so I was discharged without being able to say goodbye properly.
After discharge, buy medicine at a pharmacy near the hospital and go home
When I get home, I feel at ease.
Still, his condition is almost at the bottom due to constant headaches and jaw pain.
But I bought a bottle of sauce from Daiso because I need to eat something to get my medicine. Looking at the reviews, they said there is nothing like a sauce bottle..
But I found out why there is no such thing as a sauce bottle. (I still live with a sauce bottle on my 2nd week.)
I bought 3 cans of sauce. I bought one for gargling, one for water, and one for multi use.
(Don't buy something too small when buying. I bought a 300ml bottle and used it well)
I poured New Care into the sauce bottle and drank only half of it. I ate half and took medicine.
The first time I took the medicine, it was a bit difficult. Maybe it's natural that my throat is still swollen...
Since then, I have been drinking a lot of water. Water is the best when you have a sore throat! I drank so much water that my swollen throat started to subside little by little.
As the throat subsides, it becomes easier to take the medicine. In the evening, I drank a whole bottle of New Care.
*How to proceed after deciding on surgery and what I felt after being discharged*
Consultation reservation -> 1st visit to hospital -> Consultation with the director -> Consultation with the director -> Hospital decision -> 2nd visit to take a CT scan and adjust the wafer. At this time, consultation with the director once more.
-> 3rd hospital visit -> last consultation with the director before surgery on the day of surgery -> admission to the operating room -> end of surgery
The process is like this. I had a total of 3 consultations with the director until the surgery. I can do more if I want
If you want to ask a question or have a direction you want, feel free to talk. The director doesn't bother me at all.
If you have any other needs or questions, the manager will explain. Actually I didn't ask many questions. The reason is... I didn't have anything to ask because you told me everything before asking.
And items that are helpful when you are hospitalized!
Slippers to wear comfortably + neck pillow (I can't sleep lying down, so a neck pillow is a big help) + humidifier (helps keep my nose from drying out. It's very necessary for breathing)
+ Daiso sauce bottle as big as possible (I have no feeling in my lower mouth after surgery. It's hard to drink something from a paper cup) + Wet tissue + Leg tissue + Cell phone charger + Hand mirror
It seems like this would be enough.
I was hospitalized without preparation, but there was nothing in the hospital where I operated. Neck pillows, slippers, humidifiers, tissues, etc. are all provided in the hospital. It was really convenient.
All you need is a Daiso sauce bottle? However, I would like to need only those who are in good condition to drink this.
And don't think about going to the hospital and working after surgery... I can't even take out the laptop I took with me...
When I was discharged from the hospital, I was given a steamed pack and a cravings. You took care of everything I needed. thank you!
How did you feel after being discharged?
“Be patient with the first day, even if you spend the first day well, 50% of the pain is over.” Each of these words was the most memorable and true!
-Day 3-
I still barely sleep. However, the amount of time to sleep slightly increased compared to the first day.
When I lay down to sleep, the pain in my jaw is terrible. And the headache is still there, and the speed is still not good
But I can walk. What's better than the first
1. Can walk
2. It's hard, but you can drink something
These two things are possible
And the swelling is getting worse. Obviously, the director said that it would pour a lot for up to a week, but I usually don't pour a lot and I haven't had much swelling, so I didn't have much sense of swelling.
However.. the swelling after surgery is more than I dare to imagine. It's the first swelling I've ever seen since birth. I looked at my face in the mirror and it was so swollen that I actually laughed hahahaha I just became a completely different person
I didn't worry too much because I thought the swelling would subside. I was just curious.
Ah... I could be a different person like this... I think I was thinking something like this.
And I ordered New Care.
-Day 4-
As the day goes by, the amount of time you sleep is gradually increasing.
The more time I sleep, the better I feel. I've been hungry since then
I started taking the whole bottle of New Care at once. I thought this would be lacking in nutrients.
what can i eat
I searched various fields such as YouTube and internet search. First of all, I ask you to grind the main porridge as much as possible.
I put the raw porridge in my mouth like that... It was hard. I ate about 2 tablespoons and left it as is. drink new care again
First of all, on the 4th day, I endured with New Care.
And I tried to go for a walk. A lap around the park near the house is about 2.8 km. It took about 35 minutes to walk around slowly.
It's usually 18 minutes cut...
I felt grateful that I was still able to go for a walk.
-Day 5-
I slept a little better than yesterday. I was suffering from constant headaches and jaw pain.
Since my body is struggling, the places I can lean on now are the reviews of Yangak seniors who underwent surgery before me and unknown comrades who are currently overcoming pain with me.
I've seen it a lot. When I look at the reviews, I gain strength, and I think let's hold on well today.
The manager asked how I was doing. What about swelling, how to eat, nosebleeds, etc.. I got the feeling that they took care of me even after discharge. thank you
And today I'm going to try a slightly different menu.
I mixed half of Korean beef bulgogi porridge and a small can of tuna with water and blended them in a blender. Put it in a Daiso sauce bottle and drink it
The taste... well... I ate it because I had to live. no i drank
Since then, I have lived with a blender. I grind everything I can eat and drink. For lunch, I put banana + milk + chicken breast and grind it.
For dinner, drink New Care + Banana Grinding . Grind tomato + milk for a snack
After eating, I go for a walk.
What I learned today is that my head
