진료과목 Double-jaw surgery
제목 2nd week after double jaw surgery for class 3 malocclusion in mid-30s (long) Why Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

hello

I am writing a review of 2 weeks after surgery in the hope that it will be a helpful review for someone.

Ever since I was little, I wanted to continue correcting my malocclusion. I couldn't eat noodles or hard bread with my front teeth, so I always had to cut it with my tongue or use scissors to cut things that couldn't be done.

Malocclusion doesn't adapt to getting older. I can't eat the same as everyone else, I feel like my chin is pushing my face (it seems to be a problem with balance), and I feel more and more discomfort in the temporomandibular joint, so it's getting harder to correct as I get older. I decided to do it before

By the way... I have a rough chin with a grade 3 malocclusion, and there is a limit to solving it with correction alone.

For orthodontics, you have to remove 4 teeth and the period is about 2-3 years.. Plus, the length of the jaw will be the same..

Rather, I thought it would be a sunken face with an emphasis on the protruding chin.. To solve the length of the chin, I had to have two-jaw surgery. In addition, there was an advantage that no teeth were pulled out and the correction period would be remarkably short.

Because I had to have surgery in March, I didn't have time to do a bridge correction, and I didn't want a possible surgery, so I was very afraid of not being able to breathe due to intermaxillary fixation.

Fortunately, Dr. Lee Seok-jae at the Department of Yoral and Maxillofacial Surgery said it was possible with post-correction on no tie.

Since I had already heard from another hospital that a missionary vessel was needed, I was worried that it might be changed to a missionary vessel after a detailed examination, but the teacher said that the missionary vessel is for doctors, not patients.

Since he worked for a long time at a large hospital that did no-tie and post-correction, I naturally thought that he would have a lot of experience, and I chose the hospital thinking that I could receive more careful treatment at a private hospital.

Two days before the surgery, I got scaling at a dentist near my home.

undergo surgery

The hospital has all the neck pillows, butt cushions, and humidifiers, so I prepared light luggage.

Day of surgery - discharge

I went into the operating room with a trembling heart, said thank you, and when I woke up, I was in a hospital room.

I was so grateful that I came out with a urine line and a blood tube, and that there was no complete loss of sensation.

I had pain as if all my teeth were being squeezed, but on the first day, they said they couldn't remove the wafer.

My throat is very swollen, so I can't breathe well and it's hard to pass water.

It was hard because I couldn't drink water until 7:30 and couldn't sleep.

After that, he kept telling me that I should try to drink even if it's hard to drink water. That way, the phlegm will go down and the swollen throat will go down quickly.

Sleeping while drinking water, I try to breathe and drink water as much as I can.

I spent the day alive thanks to the head of surgery

I hope you gain health in your inhalation and wealth in your exhalation, and be filled with luck in the trivial things around you that you have not paid attention to.

On the second day, I was able to walk around without a urine line.

I drank three bottles of New Care too, and I was surprised that I couldn't eat even one bottle usually.

I did my best to drink water, breathe, and move little by little until discharge.

Bands and hot packs were also given to me when I was discharged. When I was discharged, my throbbing teeth disappeared.

It was a single hospital room, so it was comfortable and cozy.

Even wet wipes were packed, but is there a sink in the hospitalization room? There was a bathroom right after opening the door, and the operating room was very close.

All you need is a sauce bottle, mirror, cotton swab, underwear, hat, blanket, sleeping socks, lip balm? I guess I just used it like this

After discharge ~ visit the hospital one week after surgery

After discharge, I started taking antibiotics and painkillers.

After being discharged, it was more difficult for me. There was no nurse to give me suction when I was suffocating, I kept coughing, and I had an upset stomach because of the antibiotics. It was so hard to lean on the triangular cushion. I woke up...

On my week-long visit to the hospital, he told me that the surgery went well and there wasn't much swelling, but I couldn't hear it because I was too weak.

It was a time where I just focused on breathing and eating New Care and staying alive. Fortunately, New Care was delicious for me hahaha

And my lower front teeth kept throbbing.

After the 1st week visit to the 2nd week before the hospital visit

Around the 10th day, after I finished taking the antibiotics, my condition started to improve. I slept longer, the swelling started to subside, and my breathing became easier.

When I wake up, I disinfect, eat, brush my teeth, band, steam, exercise, disinfect again, and eat~

I'm pretty busy doing this repetition all day long haha

The grated porridge is tasteless and there is nothing else to eat, so I continued to eat New Care and pumpkin juice for three meals, and from the 12th day

I thinned the porridge and passed it on.

It's definitely stronger than when you eat it with water.

I have lost about 5 kg of weight now.

2nd week in-hospital treatment

The day to finally pull out the thread~

I ate painkillers beforehand. I saw a lot of reviews that said it hurt. I think it was okay.

The teacher told me to add a band and a hot compress.

I didn't work hard, it just took me. I'm sagging right now, and if I leave it alone, even if my chin swells up, it'll stay together.

I will try hard in the future

Now, in 2 weeks, I will wear braces. I'm looking forward to it.

I look forward to the day when I can eat normally with normal occlusion like everyone else.

Thanks for reading the long review

I hope you find out about other people who need treatment and get treated well at a good hospital and get healthy!
