It has already been 12 months since I underwent double jaw surgery + three facial contouring procedures!
I had my surgery last November at WHY Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery near Nonhyeon Station.

<Before Surgery>
I was always concerned about my asymmetry, protruding jaw, and flat facial profile, especially from the side.
But more than anything, my side profile was a huge complex for me, so I decided to get double jaw surgery along with facial contouring (cheekbone, square jaw, and chin surgery).

<1 Year Post-Surgery>
I canโt believe itโs already been a year since I had my surgery in November last year. ๐ญ
Time has flown by so quicklyโitโs honestly amazing!

<Before Surgery: My Concerns & Why I Chose Surgery>
I struggled with facial asymmetry, a protruding jaw, and a flat face with no volume.
When I smiled, my chin looked like a "witchโs chin," which made me extremely self-conscious.
Because of these complexes, I finally decided to undergo double jaw surgery and three facial contouring procedures (cheekbone, square jaw, and chin).
Right after surgery, time felt like it was dragging, and the recovery was tough, but time truly heals everything. ๐

<8-14 Days Post-Surgery>
At one week post-op, I went to the clinic for swelling care, and the doctor removed the stitches from my cheekbones and cleaned the inside of my mouth.
Removing the stitches didnโt hurt at all, and although many people say the mouth cleaning is painful, I only felt a slight stinging sensationโit was totally bearable!
I also struggled with nasal congestion that came and went, so I kept a large humidifier next to my bed and used a mini humidifier directly near my nose for relief.
After surviving one week, I finally felt like I was coming back to life.
I truly believe that if you can get through the first week, youโll start feeling like the surgery was worth it.
If any of my friends needed this surgery, I would definitely encourage them to go for it.
At this stage, I was counting down the days until my stitches were removed and I could finally take out my wafer!
I stayed focused on my recovery, walking daily and doing hot compresses to help with the swelling.

<4 Weeks Post-Surgery>
Finally, week 4 arrived! Time went by faster than I expected. ๐
During my check-up, I got an X-ray and waited to see the doctor.
The doctor explained that I still had a lot of swelling on the sides of my face, making it look asymmetrical.
But he assured me that it was too early (4 weeks post-op) to judge the final result, and that everything would even out over time.
Looking at my X-ray, my bones were perfectly symmetrical, which gave me a huge sense of relief!
I was so grateful to my doctor for the amazing job he did.
Comparing my before and after photos, the difference was already so noticeable!
My face length had significantly reduced, and my protruding jaw had moved inward. It was truly emotional to see! ๐ญ
The doctor also checked how much I could open my mouth and noticed that the right side of my face had slight sagging.
So he advised me to focus on lifting exercises and practice saying "A-E-I-O-U" in the mirror to balance the movement of my facial muscles.
Even now, I still practice this regularly!

<3 Months Post-Surgery>
In the early recovery stages, time felt so slow, but I can confidently say now that time heals everything. ๐
I can now eat meat and most foodsโas long as they arenโt extremely tough or hard.
To maintain my weight, Iโve been working out regularly!
My friends and people around me constantly compliment me on how great the surgery turned out, which makes every day feel exciting and happy. ๐
Even though my doctor said I still had some residual swelling at the 3-month check-up, Iโm not too worriedโitโs only a matter of time!
At this point, watching my face slowly de-puff has become so fun. ๐

<1 Year Post-Surgery>
Finally, one year!!
I tend to have slower swelling reduction than others, so only now do I feel like my cheekbone and under-chin swelling have almost fully subsided.
Now, when I take photos, I love how I look!
I find myself taking more side-profile pictures than ever before.
At first, when I was still swollen, I wondered, "Should I have reduced my cheekbones even more?"
But now? Absolutely not! ๐

<1 Year Post-Surgery>
I trusted my doctor and waited patiently for the swelling to go downโand Iโm so glad I did!
My cheekbone surgery was 100% worth it! ๐ญ๐ญ
Dr. Seokjae Lee is truly a genius. ๐
To enhance my results, I also got two sessions of Shurink lifting treatments to keep my skin tight.

I plan to continue with more treatments to maintain my new facial shape.
My chin, which was once my biggest complex, has now become my biggest strength!
I take so many side-profile photos now, and I genuinely feel like Iโm living a completely new and happy life.
Iโm so thankful I went through with this surgery! ๐
