Jaw Surgery & Two-Face Contouring (Square Jaw & Chin) D+365‼️
Satisfaction Level: 10000000000000000%
I can’t believe it’s already been a year since my surgery! It felt like forever at first, but time flew by as I got back to my daily life. 😊

Before surgery, I had a severe underbite—my chin stuck out as much as my nose! It had been my biggest insecurity since childhood. Getting jaw surgery was on my life bucket list, so I put in a ton of effort researching and visiting different clinics for consultations.
Most clinics told me I had to get jaw surgery plus cheekbone reduction. But when I consulted with the doctor at WHY Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, he was the only one who confidently said cheekbone reduction wasn’t necessary. I really wanted to fix my bite with the least amount of surgery possible, so his honesty made me trust him.
If you have an underbite like I did, you probably get it—growing up, I got so many mean nicknames and was teased about my jaw all the time.
I hated being seen from the side, avoided profile photos, and always covered my face with my hand without even realizing it. I’d also pull my chin back to make it look like I had a normal bite... 😅

But now? I proudly take side profile pictures and don’t care who sees me from the side! No more hiding! Some might think it’s a small thing, but for someone like me with a major underbite, this is HUGE.‼️
Even my boyfriend sometimes just stares at my side profile, and it makes me feel sooo proud. 😂
A year after surgery, people who meet me for the first time assume I was born with a naturally small face and a normal jaw. Some even compliment my facial structure! (Which is crazy to me—I never imagined that would happen!)
Even my friends and family, who were against the surgery at first, now say I look amazing and that I made the right choice.
Some of them don’t even remember what I used to look like! 😂

I think I healed faster than most people, so for those who are planning surgery or in the early recovery stage, here’s what helped me:
✔ Move as much as you can! Once you’re able to walk, WALK A LOT. I walked 15,000 steps every day after getting discharged, and it really helped with swelling and feeling less weak.
✔ Do your jaw exercises! When your doctor tells you to practice opening your mouth, do it. If you don’t, your jaw could stiffen up, and later it’ll be hard to open your mouth. 😭
✔ Now, a year later, I can do everything as usual—exercise, eat, and talk normally. My mouth opens just as wide as before surgery (I can fit four fingers inside!). I can eat big bites of wraps, tear apart chicken, chew ribs, and even eat squid. 😂
So, was it worth it?
If you ask me whether I recommend jaw surgery, my answer is YES, 500000%.
It was truly a life-changing experience. Before surgery, I couldn’t use my front teeth or one side of my molars properly, so chewing was uncomfortable. But now, I can use all my teeth evenly!
Most importantly, fixing my biggest insecurity boosted my confidence and self-esteem. If I could go back in time, I’d do it again—even if it’s expensive. No regrets at all. I’m forever grateful to my doctor. ❤️
If you’re struggling with an underbite and considering surgery, I highly recommend doing thorough research and finding a great doctor at a trustworthy clinic.
Wishing you the best on your journey! 💕
