Hello! I received orthodontic treatment at WHY Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery due to issues with my malocclusion and facial asymmetry. 
After that, I had jaw surgery and contouring surgeries (cheekbones, square jaw, and chin). Now, it's been 9 months since the surgery!!
The swelling from the jaw and contour surgeries is almost completely gone, and I can say that it's no longer noticeable. 😊 When people see me for the first time, they can't even tell that I've had jaw surgery. It's become so natural!
Of course, the muscles around my jaw are still not fully relaxed, so it's a little awkward to smile or keep my mouth closed. There’s still some sensation loss, but compared to the beginning, it’s much better now, so I'm satisfied! 😄 It's still a bit awkward to smile widely, but there's no discomfort, and even though I still feel some discomfort due to the orthodontic treatment, there are tiny changes that make it worth enduring. 😊 Also, I go to the hospital every month, so I can have these areas checked, which is nice!
I've gained a lot more confidence, and I often get compliments saying that my face looks smaller, my nose looks prettier, and my expression looks gentler. This has made me realize even more how important facial shape is. Just changing the shape of my face has made the overall vibe softer, and my facial features look more defined. These days, I really think getting the jaw surgery was the right decision.
When reading reviews about jaw surgery, many people say that compared to the stress they used to have, this level of discomfort is bearable. The surgery is truly tough and painful, but once you see your changing face, you forget all about it. Now, I can completely relate to that. It's not just the physical change, but I’ve also noticed a huge internal change, as I’ve freed myself from the complexes and stress I’ve carried since childhood. Of course, it was painful, and the recovery was tough, but if you’ve been struggling with a complex, I would definitely recommend this surgery!
