I have had a protruding jawline and big face. Wanted to get that fixed so went to WHY dental clinic as the doctor seems really experienced. Overall, I did double jaw surgery, where the doctor moved up lower jaw backwards by about 1cm and upper jaw forward. I also did 3 facial contouring (cheekbone reduction, vline and side) and buccal fat removal. Had the surgery done in Nov 2024.


Day of Surgery :
I was not nervous, went into the surgery. We also did wafer a few days prior. Woke up feeling I am dying, it was very difficult to breathe. I really regretted the surgery as I had a really bad sorethroat due to tubing and breathing was not easy, I was very stressed but kind nurses were always there to help me and make my day easier. Doctors also provided red light therapy, as frequent as I wanted to help with healing.

1 week post op :
You have to always wear the wafer, cannot remove it, cannot brush teeth. Was really disgusting... but eating liquid food only. I think I lost weight then!

2 week post op :
Finally can remove wafer to brush teeth, can eat semi solid food, but be very careful, you dont want to shift the perfect aesthetic position your jaw is in!! I remember I had korean ramen noodles back then, but had to cut in super small pieces, and swallow. No chewing at all. Mouth could barely open 5mm.

1 month post op (Dec 2024) :
Swelling reduced alot. Difficult to chew, could not open mouth by very big. Stick to soft food mainly as I was afraid of shifting the bones before the full recovery.
 

3 month post op (Feb 2025) :
Most of the swelling has gone away. Looking abit better but I have a double chin... from the excess skin after moving the lower jaw backwards and upper jaw forward.

6 month post op (May 2025) :
I would say 85% of swelling is gone? I am also currently fixing my teeth with orthodontics and braces. Still have double chin. But having a healthy diet and losing some weight definitely helps the facial structure look better. I am more confident now compared to pre-op, I even received a confession from someone I know! Many people have commented that I look beautiful.. Hehehe. So happy I don't have a big face anymore! Thank you doctor!!!
